Paired Reading

In Primary 5, Miss Arthurs is looking for fluency and expression when reading aloud. I have been very impressed with the children's fluency so far! We have identified that expression is an area we are going to work on this term with the Polar Bears group.

In today's reading lesson, the children read with a shoulder partner in order to work on their fluency and expression.

Paired reading takes away the pressure of reading in front of a group every week, allowing them to build on their reading skills and confidence without a large audience.

The children gave constructive feedback to their partner in their reading marker and highlighted 'two stars and a wish' in their class jotter.

Have a look at us in action!
