Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone!
We have all had a super holiday and are ready to work hard in Term 3.
Term 2 was extremely busy with our St.Andrew's Day Assembly and Christmas Concert as well as our Parliament Topic.
Our St. Andrew's Assembly took place on 29th November and was a great success. We all really enjoyed entertaining our peers, parents, family and friends with poetry, dancing, singing and the story of our Patron Saint. We learned a lot from our assembly preparations- Did you know the Scottish flag was created to represent the sea St. Andrew's body travelled over and the cross he was hung on?
Miss Fulton was very impressed with our efforts and enthusiasm.
For the Christmas Concert we worked on our song 'Twelve Days of Christmas'. We sang this in small groups and enjoyed performing in front of two large audiences- if you were there, i'm sure you'll agree every class did a great job!
During Term 3 we will be working on our Joyning the Learning Topic and you will be invited to our Open Evening in March to see what we have been learning about!
We are also going to be doing our next level of Heartstart training to make us more aware of how to help with choking and a suspected heart attack.
Primary 4 are participating in a block of Active Choices which will help them become more aware of the foods they are eating and the exercise they are doing. This will be a fun and exciting experience,
Primary 5 can vouch for that after taking part in the programme last year!
As it is traditional to recite a poem on Burns' Day we are learning 'Dreamscape at Bedtime' by John Rice which our talented winners will recite at our Burns' Assembly.
We are looking forward to what term 3 has in store and will keep you posted!
See you soon
