Swinging Sixties Trip

What a fantastic day we had visiting The People's Palace and Scotland Street School Museum!

We had to work as a team to read maps and find various boxes with questions and challenges teaching us a lot more about life in the 1960s.

We were able to see items from the 1960s and identify what they were made from, who may have used them and why they were used. This allowed us to further compare life now to life then.

The morning flew by and we were ready for lunch after all of our dancing at the 'Barrowlands'. Following lunch we had an opportunity to visit the shop and buy some interesting and unusual souvenirs!

For the remainder of the day we went to Scotland Street School Museum which was fantastic. Guru Si was our teacher and we were able to wear some 60s clothing as we completed this workshop! We experienced what a 60s classroom would have been like and created an album cover for our own bands.

Great fun was had by everyone and we would like to thank the parent helpers for joining us as well as Miss Fox!

We held a very successful open evening last week and the feedback we received about our work was excellent! Everyone one of our visitors had a brilliant time and learned something new about 'The Swinging Sixties'. Miss Fulton was so proud of all of us and has been extremely impressed by all of our hard work!

Sports Relief encouraged us to take part in a sponsored walk round Robertson Park- as a result we have collected sponsors and been encouraged to get fit and enjoy the outdoors throughout spring and summer!

It's that time again- Parents Night. We are all working even harder to ensure our reports are as good as they can be!

All that's left to say is we hope you have a lovely, safe and relaxing Easter holiday and we will see you in April!

Thanks for visiting our blog
